By now you will have noticed there's something very different about the AMI web site.This new look, the first major design change in almost four years, has been developed with you, the user, in mind. The look has changed to better meet the needs of one of the most rapidly developing parts of the ACUI Online.
Our old design served us well but we have redesigned the site to provide you with a better service and to meet the needs for growth on the site in the coming years.The amount of content available on the web-site has grown in recent times and we needed to reorganise our content to make it easier to find and present a greater range of material than was previously possible.
We believe this new design is cleaner, more contemporary and provides better navigation than we were able to achieve with our former design. And it incorporates many of the changes suggested to us, combined with the wide experience and expertise of the site's developer, The System Works. These changes are the result of extensive testing over the past few months. The labels and other navigational aids you see on this site were found to be the most effective guides to our content.
This brief guide will help you understand the underlying principles supporting this design change. The first point to make is that ALL of the content we provided in our previous design is still available.
In fact, we've added a few new sections. The most significant change is the inclusion of an online (password-protected) membership database. You are able to log-in using the user name and password provided by AMI. At your first opportunity we suggest that you change your password to one known only to you.
Here's how it works....
When you arrive at our Home Page you'll see a summary of the latest AMI news and summary of events. Along the top of the page you'll see the three main menus ABOUT AMI, NEWS & EVENTS and MEMBER FACILITIES. Just click on the relevant link to access the page or information you require. For example, if you want to find out more about ACUI membership just go to ABOUT AMI and click on the "membership" link. To access the secure online membership database, just go to MEMBER FACILIITES, but you'll need your username and password.
